When clouds lift, Gangtok's best glimpses of Khangchendzonga are from this roadside knoll at the junction of routes to Mangan and Nathu La, around 7km northwest of the center. Entrance to a glassed in view platform is through a gift shop and requires a ticket but much the same view is visible for free from outside and along sections of the road leading west towards Pangthang.
Trips to North Sikkim typically pass Tashi Viewpoint en route.
