San Gennaro Festival

Rowdy, loyal crowds descend on the narrow streets of Little Italy for carnival games, sausage-and-fried-pepper sandwiches, a meatball-eating contest and more Italian treats than you can stomach in one evening. Held over 11 days in mid-September, it remains an old-world tradition that has been going for more than 90 years.
