San Francisco Ballet

The USA's oldest ballet company (sfballet.org) is looking sharp in more than 100 shows annually, from The Nutcracker (the US premiere was here) to modern originals. Performances are at the War Memorial Opera House from January to May, and you can score $15 to $20 same-day standing-room tickets at the box office (open four hours before curtain on performance days only).
