Pyramid Lake

Pyramid Lake is a stunning standalone sight, with shores lined with beaches and eye-catching tufa formations. This piercingly blue expanse in an otherwise barren landscape is 25 miles north of Reno on the Paiute Indian Reservation. Iconic pyramidlike Anaho Island, nearer its east side, is a bird sanctuary for American white pelicans.
