This park features one of Florida's loveliest and least touristed springs. The spring has clear, almost luminescent waters, like something from a fairy tale, and is studded with knobby trees and surrounded by ladders for easy swimming access. Two short, self-guided nature trails skirt the bank of nearby Blackwater Creek, and rangers conduct seasonal walking tours. Bring a picnic – there are plenty of tables and even charcoal grills for a cookout. The water temperature remains a constant 68°F.
Ponce de Leon Springs State Park is just off of I-10, about 40 miles north of the 30A Beaches, around 100 miles west of Tallahassee and about 90 miles east of Pensacola.
