Pa’rus Trail

The Pa’rus (pah-roos) trail is one of Zion’s busiest, and for good reason: the 1.7-mile (one way) path makes for a lovely mid-canyon stroll along the Virgin River. The paved, wheelchair-accessible trail is the only park trail open to bikes and dogs, and is ideal for views of the Towers of the Virgin, the Streaked Wall, Bridge Mountain and the Watchman.

Four footbridges crisscross the river, and numerous dirt paths lead down to the water where you can play. At trail’s end, Canyon Junction, you can turn around or hop on a return shuttle. Allow about 1½ hours for this easy walk. The trail begins at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center.
