Of the many walks beginning at the car park, the standout is the Ghost Gum Walk (2.5km, 1½ hours), which climbs to the lookout, follows the ridge, then loops back via the waterholes. You may need to swim when water levels are high. The shorter option to the lookout and back is 1.2km or about 45 minutes. For something longer, try the Pound Walk (8.5 km, three to four hours), one of central Australia’s most rewarding circuits. Walking tracks are well marked and graded, but sturdy shoes, water and sun protection are essential.
