Old Stone House Museum

This well-preserved but little-visited museum is just one of many lovely 19th-century buildings reposing under the shade of ancient maple trees in the historic village of Brownington. The museum pays tribute to educational trailblazer Alexander Twilight, the USA’s first African American college graduate, who built Brownington’s boarding school and ran it for decades. Self-guided visits and guided tours are both available.
