Oak Grove Cemetery

This historic cemetery received its first customer in 1837 and was soon the preferred resting place for a variety of early Texas pioneers. Note how early Catholics were segregated in their own area. Immediately north of the cemetery is the Zion Hill Historic District, which was the segregated home for Nacogdoches's African American community during much of the town's first hundred years.
