In the suburbs, sporadically signposted from the city centre, the Museo Archeologico displays a collection of prehistoric finds from all over Sicily, including vases, tools, early Sicilian ceramics and rare terracotta figurines from the Bronze Age.

The church you'll see near the museum car park is the 12th-century Abbazia di Santo Spirito, one of the few surviving relics from the city's Norman period.
