Munhwa-Dong

Northwest of the port is Seohorakdang Hill , once a disaster-prone area, now transformed into the canola-strewn gardens of Seopirang Park . The park's staircases lead to viewpoints and a hilltop pavilion, from which the 1933 hexagonal water-supply facilities of Munhwa-dong are visible. Walking down the hill past the maroon-brick Chungmu Church , you'll find the Sebyeong-Gyo complex, a charming fortress-like series of Joseon-style pavilions and gardens. Across the road, the History Museum of Tongyeong City (free), closed Mondays. offers insight into Tongyeong’s past maritime prowess.
