Set in an impressive 12th-century undercroft, Moyse's Hall museum displays a curious collection of artefacts, from a locket of Mary Tudor's hair to the death mask of 19th-century murderer William Corder (and, contentiously, a book bound in his skin!). Check out the fascinating displays on the town's ruined abbey and the chilling Bury witch trials.
Look out too for displays on one of England's most notorious murders – that of Maria Marten in the Red Barn at nearby Polstead in 1827. A huge crowd gathered in Bury to see her murderer hang.
