Salcombe's best high-tide beach, sand-filled Mill Bay sits across the water on the east side of the estuary. Get there by taking the East Portlemouth passenger East Portlemouth Ferry. You can then either walk the lane south from East Portlemouth's ferry dock, or – at low tide – stroll along the sandy shore.
Between April and October the East Portlemouth Ferry departs from Jubilee Pier (off Fore St); from November to March it leaves from Whitestrand Quay.
