Manti–La Sal National Forest

Hundreds of trail miles crisscross this 1.4-million-acre park. In alpine terrain, the spruce- and fir-covered slopes offer respite from the heat (expect about a 10°F, or 6°C, drop in temperature for every 1000ft you ascend), and spring wildflowers and fall color.
