Llandovery Castle

Very ruined Llandovery Castle, originally dating from 1100, looms ineffectually over the town car park. The disembodied stainless-steel knight statue commemorates Llywelyn ap Gruffydd Fychan, gruesomely executed by Henry IV for refusing to lead him to Welsh independence leader Owain Glyndŵr's base.
