Las Parrandas

Small-town Remedios ignites (quite literally) one of Cuba's biggest festivals a few days before Christmas with revelries culminating on December 24. The town divides into two competing camps in a street "battle" of colorful floats, illuminations and fireworks. It's a show to behold – if very noisy and crowded. Book well ahead for accommodations.
