Situated 8km north of the city centre is the hilltop Kuching North City Hall (known by its Malay abbreviation, DBKU), a landmark prestige project – some say it looks like a UFO – inaugurated in 1993. It houses the local council, as well as the Cat Museum on the ground floor.

If you’re going to the Santubong Peninsula by car, you can stop here on the way.
