Hidden in a fold of the hills 5 miles west of Aberlour, Knockando is a rare example of an 18th-century woolen mill that has been lovingly restored to full working order. The ancient looms clank away Tuesday to Friday, turning out plaid and tweed textiles that can be purchased in the neighboring shop, while museum exhibits tell the story of the mill's history.
