Historical Museum

This small museum, situated in the center of Chiprovtsi above a small stream, tells the story of the village, focusing on its gold- and silver-mining traditions and its unusual (for Bulgaria) history as a Catholic and Saxon enclave. Also on display are period weapons, traditional costumes and colorful examples of the local Chiprovtsi carpets.
