This Fort townhouse (which dates back to the Dutch days) displays the private collection of a long-time local family. It's an Aladdin's cave of treasures washed in, dug up, and dusted down from the waters, streets and houses of Galle, with oodles of colonial artifacts, including antique typewriters, VOC china, spectacles and jewelry, all displayed in a haphazard, but absorbing manner. Also, look out for craftspeople busy polishing gems and weaving lace in the shops attached to the museum.
