Hector

A replica of the ship Hector, which carried the first 200 Highland Scots to Nova Scotia, is tied up for viewing on Pictou's waterfront. You can descend into the bunk-crammed hull to get a sense of how challenging the crossing would have been. The historical context is explored in the heritage center nearby.
