Hard Times Mine

Get kitted out in mining attire and a head lamp at the Hard Times Mine. On this 2½-hour tour, often guided by former miners, you descend into a purpose-built mine complete with fuming, roaring, rattling machinery, 1.2km of tunnels and the crib room. Tour times are posted on an electronic screen showing that day's and the next day's tours. Advance bookings are always recommended.
