Near the entrance to the park, this channel between Hecla Island and the mainland is one of Manitoba's most important marshes and a major nesting site for Canada geese and a great many other waterfowl. The system of dykes controls the water levels in the marsh; trails alongside the dykes can be explored on foot or by bicycle.
