Although the original, massive, 300-acre Forest Lawn is the final home of such Golden Age superstars as Clara Bow, Humphrey Bogart and Jimmy Stewart, many of their graves are in mausoleums that are off-limits to the public and staff strongly discourage lookie-loos. Still, it's an attraction for its art collection, including a stained glass recreation of Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper, Polish artist Jan Styka's gargantuan 1904 painting of the Crucifixion, and a museum with changing exhibits.
More old-time celebs – Lucille Ball, Bette Davis and Stan Laurel – rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park – Hollywood Hills, alongside paeans to early North American history.
