First Original McDonald's Museum

If you worship at the altar of the Golden Arches, fold a pilgrimage to the site of the original McDonald's into your Route 66 trip. Though not technically on the fabled highway and not even in the original building created in 1948 by brothers Dick and Mac McDonald, the First Original McDonald's Museum is still a worthwhile stop thanks to its Route 66 memorabilia amassed by its current owner, Juan Pollo chicken-chain mogul Albert Okura.
