Catapulting straight to the top of Havana’s best nightlife spots when it opened in 2014, Vedado’s unique art "factory" was the brainchild of Cuban fusion musician X-Alfonso.
Conceived as part art gallery, part live-music venue, part inspirational meeting place, Fábrica (FAC) has established itself as a cultural destination par excellence where electrifying "happenings" take place in a multifaceted, Bauhaus-style interior.
Top-Tier Art
FAC is first and foremost an art gallery, with paintings, sculptures, graffiti, photography and installations on every wall and in every corner of the formerly abandoned factory. The space closes every three months to make way for new exhibitions, making Fabrica a dynamic and ever-changing art experience. However, there are some permanent pieces, especially on the top floor. Grab a drink from one of the several bars dotted around and take a wander.
All the Arts Under One Roof
Upon leaving the FAC, you may likely say, 'I’ve never seen anything like it before.' In Nave 3, you'll find film screenings, fashion shows and dance performances. Nave 4 is the main stage, where Cuba’s most famous artists perform, and Nave 1 is an intimate space for newcomers and niche musical genres. Cool yet unpretentious, FAC is the kind of place where you can meet the performers as well as be part of the audience. Expect free tango lessons, classical cellists, Cuban rappers and dizzying rumba shows – all in the same night – so follow the sounds.
