When the local energy company found itself with half an empty substation, it devoted the station, of course, to the great inventor: Thomas Edison. Though Edison has no real connection to Beaumont, the museum is entertaining and interactive and worth a look for some of its artifacts. It's tucked behind the large Edison Plaza building, in the small red-brick structure.
