For train buffs, this fabulous video-rich museum is almost reason enough to come to Denmark. At Danmarks Jernbanemuseet (jernbanemuseet.dk, 140kr, under-18s free) you can clamber through more than two dozen trains including Christian IX’s plush 1900 royal saloon car and a working replica of Denmark’s first locomotive, ODIN, from 1846. Kids will love the mock station, toy train models and mini train ride, while the InterRail exhibition is a trip down memory lane for visitors of an older vintage. The museum is housed in an old depot building just behind Odense Railway Station.
Prices increase somewhat in summer and at holiday periods.
