Community Tsunami Education Centre and Museum

This locally run center focuses on tsunami education for locals, but the back rooms have dramatic and harrowing photos of the Indian Ocean tsunami revealling the full magnitude of the events of 26 December 2004. A side pavilion contains a carriage from the train that was derailed near here during the disaster, with the loss of 1200 lives.
