The stately rock stacks of Bedruthan loom from the landscape roughly halfway between Newquay and Padstow. These mighty granite pillars have been carved out by relentless wind and waves. Those same natural forces caused a rockfall in early 2020, prompting the closure of the steps onto the beach (check the website for updates). The clifftop footpaths remain open and deliver dramatic views; walking options include a 4.5-mile loop.
The area is owned by the National Trust (NT), which also runs the car park and cafe. Admission to the site is free, but non-NT members have to pay for parking (per two hours £2.50, day £6).
