The precise spot where Captain Cook first set foot on Hawaiian soil being unknown, a large boulder near the mouth of Waimea River was arbitrarily chosen to hold a commemorative plaque. That plaque was stolen several years ago, presumably by locals reluctant to celebrate Cook’s impact, so there’s nothing to see.
