Buxton's extravagant baths were built in Regency style in 1854 and are fronted by the Crescent, a grand, curving facade inspired by the Royal Crescent in Bath. Following extensive renovations, its pump room, which dispensed the town's spring water for nearly a century, has displays showcasing Buxton's thermal springs heritage spanning their Roman discovery to today.
Within the complex is a five-star hotel (double/suite from £155/195) and lavish spa including the original Victorian baths with naturally heated 28°C water.

Adjacent to the complex is St Anne's Well, where Buxton's restorative waters still flow freely; bring a bottle to fill up.
