Broughton Island

This remote island about 14km off the coast of Port Stephens, is uninhabited except for muttonbirds and little penguins, and its surrounding waters are home to an enormous diversity of fish. The diving is excellent, and the beaches are secluded. If you don't have your own boat, check the website for details of the four local operators who run tours and private transport to the island. The island's five basic campsites must be reserved online, in advance.
