Bowie Nature Park

Further from Nashville than other parks, and consequently quieter, Bowie Park is perfect for some easy hiking in peaceful surroundings. A series of short, interconnected trails (most of which allow bikes and horses – watch out for the poop – for a small fee) head through shady pine forest and past small, pretty lakes (no swimming). Pack a picnic, pick up a leaflet showing the walks, and enjoy the solitude.
