One of the best places to see wildlife is on this self-guided, 7-mile drive through salt- and freshwater marshes. A trail brochure detailing 12 stops and the habitats and wildlife found there is available at the entry point. On view are some of Florida's finest bucket-list birds: roseate spoonbills, tri-colored herons, snowy egrets, bald eagles, ibis and more.
Birds aren't the only cool thing here. There's also the possibility of seeing alligators, bobcats, otters, and reptiles, especially in the early morning and late afternoon. The drive takes approximately 40 minutes.
