Agostino Giuntoli came to SF as a Palace Hotel janitor in 1922, and now his grandsons are in charge, booking intimate showcases with marquee talent (Adele, Van Morrison, Lizzo, Brandi Carlisle, Bebel Gilberto) and indie bands that get the dance floor bumping (Zap Mama, Dandy Warhols, The Walkmen). This is a classy joint: dress snazzy and bring cash to tip coat-check and powder-room attendants. Most shows are 21+, two-drink minimum; no recording.
