East of the town center, the Angurukaramulla Temple has a pavilion entered through the mouth of a concrete lion at the feet of a large sitting Buddha. Inside, a hall of statues and murals tells the story of the Buddha's life, but attendants ask for a steep fee to view it (an explanatory booklet is included in the price). A three-wheeler from town will cost Rs 300.
