Amgueddfa Ceredigion Museum

Ceredigion's county museum inhabits the Coliseum, which opened in 1905 as a theatre, then from 1932 served as a cinema promising 'amusement without vulgarity'. The elegant interior retains its stage, with exhibits from the museum's collection of 60,000-plus artefacts positioned around its three tiers – everything from old chemist furnishings and a replica 1850s cottage to a Bronze Age burial urn and a Roman cooking pot. It was closed at the time of research. Aberystwyth's Tourist Office is located here.
