About 23 miles north of Fields is the remote and Spartanly beautiful Alvord Hot Springs, which dates from the 1940s. There is a general store and restrooms, and camping and four-bunk 'MASH' units for rent.
The springs flow into two small, temperature-adjustable pools at the edge of the desert.
