Presided over by the Institute of Jamaica, the Heritage Centre houses an extensive library dedicated to the history of the Middle Passage and the African diaspora, as well as the Memory Bank, an engrossing audiovisual history archive preserving Jamaica’s rich folkloric traditions. Though mainly a research center, it also stages cultural events, from lectures and symposia to dance performances.
