Born in 1927, Jack Absalom is one of the celebrated "Brushmen of the Bush," a group of five artists that hailed from Broken Hill (Pro Hart was another member). Absalom's oil paintings (and opal collection) are on show in a purpose-built space attached to his home; his works beautifully capture the light and color of outback landscapes.
