928 Nuʻuanu Ave

The impressive 1898 Romanesque stone building at 5 928 Nuʻuanu Ave bears the name of an early tenant, 'The Nippu Jiji,' which was a newspaper serving the large Japanese community of immigrant agricultural workers. It was a force for its readers' rights and won many victories against the powerful growers.
