1677 Harlow 'Old Fort' House

Other historic houses are open by appointment only. At 119 Sandwich St, the was the home of William Harlow, a local farmer, cooper and town official, who fought in King Philip's War. It is sometimes called the "Old Fort" house because Harlow used materials salvaged from the fort-house on Burial Hill to build his home. At 27 North St, the 1749 Spooner house was occupied by the Spooner family for more than two centuries. Legend has it that the house is still haunted by the ghost of one young Abigail Townsend, who lived with the Spooners in the mid-18th century.
