Overview

Onward to your next destination! After breakfast, check out of your hotel and meet your driver in the lobby. This morning, you’ll take a private transfer to Zadar, but, rather than head there directly, you’ll make an exciting stop along the way. A little more than two hours into your day’s scenic road trip, you’ll pause at Plitvice Lakes National Park, the first national park in all of Croatia. Upon arriving here, you’ll meet your local expert guide for a thrilling nature tour, during which you’ll walk along the park's wooden paths and bridges. Plitvice Lakes harbors an exquisite series of 16 emerald and blue travertine lakes, more than 90 waterfalls, and numerous caves — many of which you'll see during today's tour. After your guided foray into this swath of UNESCO-recognized land, you’ll have time at leisure to enjoy lunch and further explore at your own pace before resuming the journey to Zadar. Later, you'll check in to your Zadar hotel and let your new home base begin to enchant you. (Breakfast)

Highlights

Plitvice Lakes National Park Guided Tour

This national park — the country’s first — captures Croatian history and beauty in one sprawling oasis of 300 square kilometers and 16 lakes. Surrounded by beech and pine forests, these lakes coincide with a series of waterfalls, nestled within deep woodlands and populated by deer, bears, wolves, boars, and rare bird species. Alongside your local expert guide, you’ll explore this natural, UNESCO-recognized wonderland, experiencing its joys in real time.

Zadar

Welcome to your next slice of Croatia, as Zadar ushers you into another side and story of the country. A city of romance, love, and passion, Zadar melds centuries of history with a dynamic city center and a friendly community that will welcome you today. Anchored by its ancient Roman Forum, the Old Town remains Zadar's historic star, while St. Anastasia’s Cathedral likewise symbolizes the city.
