Around midday, however, it's time for the Stockyards. Head back to your hotel to pick up your rental car for a day trip to neighboring Fort Worth. Just about an hour from Dallas, Fort Worth's Stockyards neighborhood welcomes you to the wild, wild west. In Fort Worth, you'll wander through the historic district, where Ariat and Lucchese stores blend with saloons and Western heritage museums. At 4 p.m., make sure you're in the neighborhood's center, as the world-famous cattle drive occurs every day, twice a day, as a community-wide affair.
