Now that you’ve experienced the urban fabric of Edinburgh, it’s time to get out of the city and into Scotland’s renowned landscapes. This morning, you’ll meet your driver for your journey into the Highlands, where the landscape opens into sweeping glens, lochs, and mountain ranges. With more daylight, the journey allows for a variety of scenic stops — from historic villages to dramatic viewpoints. Along the way, you'll have the chance to make any and all stops, breaking up the road trip with scenic detours. The day's route will lead you west toward Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, where you may stop for loch views and short walks. From here, you’ll continue north, winding into wild and dramatic terrain. Keep your gaze fixed out the window to watch as towering mountains and deep glens signal your arrival in Glencoe — one of Scotland’s most powerful and atmospheric locales. As you approach Glencoe, you'll have the option to take an easy hike through Glencoe Valley and stop by the visitor's center. Check in to your new hotel, then enjoy your first countryside afternoon and evening at leisure. You’re free to take a short walk along local trails and grab dinner at a recommended restaurant. Established in 2002 as Scotland's first national park, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park falls on a geographical fault line.
