From the water to the rainforest, today will immerse you in yet another magnificent landscape around Port Douglas. Meet your expert local guide this morning for another full-day tour, which begins at a secret location on the scenic Mossman River. Here, you'll participate in a thrilling river walk upstream, before drifting downstream on a river sled. Along the way, keep an eye out for turtles, fish, and the elusive platypus who call this river home. After a delightful lunch, you'll switch from nature to culture to meet members of the Kuku Yalanji community. Experience a deep connection during the smoke ceremony, during which community members will cleanse you of evil spirits and cover your skin in traditional rainforest body paint. Just make sure to conserve energy for this afternoon, as you’ll end the day with an interpretive walk through Daintree National Park. This guided hike spans roughly an hour and a half, and will leave you with a deeper understanding of the breathtaking rainforest. Take note of the rare birds and ancient plants that frame your pathways; you’re in one of Australia’s most dynamic environments.
