The shrine's first gate is Ishi-dorii , which dates to Tōshō-gū's original construction in 1619. To the left is the 34.3m-tall Gojūnotō , an 1819 reconstruction of the five-story pagoda first built here in the 17th century. After the ticket booths, the next gate is Omote-mon , guarded on either side by Deva kings.
