Rebeccu

Between the Necropoli di Sant’Andrea Priu and Bonarva is hilltop Rebeccu, a windswept and largely abandoned medieval hamlet carved into calcareous rock. It’s worth taking an hour or so to explore the village. According to a local legend, the village was hit by malaria and abandoned after it had been cursed by a princess who had been accused of witchcraft and driven out by the villagers.
