About the author
I've been writing about travel for more than 20 years, contributing to many publications including the Guardian, Telegraph, Independent, Times and CNN Travel, with the occasional report for BBC Radio 4. I adore France and Italy and write about them regularly, but, thanks to my family background, I write about the Balkans often – Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia.
My new travelogue/memoir, 'My Family and Other Enemies – Life and Travels in Croatia's Hinterland', is published in August 2022.
